We are creative, chronically curious, hyperactive. We often discuss great ideas, we dream about new projects while pedaling on a peopleless road in nature. Every day we are in motion, just for the pleasure of it, to feel the adrenaline in action. That’s how we like to get straight to the finish: perspiring, galvanized, satisfied. In other words, happy.
We have been loving cycling since we were kids, and this vocation makes us strongly believe in the power of the Team. But we know that the team is not just those who pedal to hit the finish, but also those among us who attend so that all the gears work smoothly. When we say “we”, we are not only speaking of our agency, but also the brands, the people, the ideas that make us grow, every day.
Authenticity is a value we cannot get by without.
Listening to people is at the core of our racing strategy: we aim to get to know them so well that we can speak for them, telling their story just like they’d want it, in fact just like they dreamt it.
INSPIRATION
Carbonara –
A dish that makes you think of Rome, right away. One of many stories says it was made up by Roman women cooks at the end of World War II, as they got inspired by the stocks of bacon and eggs of the Allies, ingredients that they used to create a delicious pasta sauce, renowned across the world.
Comfortably numb, Pink Floyd, 1979 – A milestone of progressive rock. David Gilmour’s iconic solo makes me travel in space time.
Gin-Tonic – Used at the end of the eighteenth century as a medicine against malaria among the Britons who colonized India, today Gin Tonic is a cult drink that passed the test of the centuries. It is supposedly liked so much because of its molecules: special and accidental combinations create great things, just like in life.
MoMa, New York – Inaugurated in 1929, in the heart of Manhattan, it is the coolest contemporary art museum. In its essential architecture, the natural light suddenly flows and fills the spaces. To me, it conveys awe, imagination and an energy boost.
Blade runner, 1982 – In the near future a detective has the task to eliminate a group of killer androids on the run from their creator, but during his quest he’ll learn a dreadful truth. For me, it is a masterpiece, as it was one of the first movies that opened up futuristic visions through intellectual and far-reaching sci-fiction stories.
“L’uomo di neve”, Jo Nesbo 2010 –
Jo Nesbo’s masterful suspense-building are real page-turner, especially this one, in which detective Harry Hole inquires uncanny disappearances of mothers and children occurring every year in Oslo upon the first snowfall. The Scandinavian peaceful atmosphere and the novel’s tension building up blend in an evocative thriller to be devoured all at once.
Pizza – Pizza is the symbol of the Italian spirit worldwide. To say that I love it is quite an understatement, I’d eat it even at breakfast. When relished in Naples’ backstreets, the classic Neapolitan pizza has a different compelling taste that has turned it into my favorite food by far.
Bonito, Jarabe de Palo, 2003 – A song rooted in the Latinos pop music tradition that was so successful in Italy, thanks to the Italian version by Jovanotti. For me it is a life philosophy: we need to trust, believe that something good is everywhere. Bonita la vida!
Museo del Prado, Madrid – Inaugurated in 1819, it is one of the major art museums in the world. In its infinite Neoclassic rooms you can lose track of time, a maze where I have rediscovered the hidden appeal of art pieces made by artists that seemed so boring in my schoolbooks.
Il lato positivo | Silver Linings Playbook, 2012 – Pat, suffering from bipolar syndrome, has spent eight months in an institution for mentally-ill people and is entrusted to his parents who, trying to pull himself together, try to share their family passion for the Philadelphia Eagles football team with him. This movie is a life lesson; it encourages us to always find some silver lining in everything… Even with rain clouds, we know the sun shines behind them.
Open. La mia storia, Andre Agassi, 2011 – The incredible autobiography by champion Andre Agassi, who grew up with a despotic father torn between his huge hatred for tennis and the awareness of being exceptionally talented. I like him because he has always been an inspiring punk and revolutionary character in my everyday life.
The Ice Cream – Unarguably appreciated worldwide and with ancient origins, ice cream is ageless and satisfies the most demanding palates with sophisticated and fancy flavors. But what is the real classical flavor? It is not an easy question. Ice cream takes me back in time, bringing to mind lovely and unforgettable memories. A strange and special attraction, no matter the season. WIthout abusing it, it is definitely one of my favorite foods and comfort zones.
Coldplay – Founded in 1997 in London, the British band became famous three years later through some of his songs like Yellow. A student band that started accidentally because they all shared a passion for music and were committed to support several social projects. Their pop style was rich with sound experiments and the piece I love the most and could listen to for hours is, no doubt, Up & Up.
Museo del Cinema – True, I love my home, but the Cinema Museum was opened in a building with a stormy past that became the permanent seat of the museum with its characteristic large vault that emphasizes the exhibition.
Anna and the king – MiI like it because it fills me with a lovely feeling, an intense emotion throughout. Courage and determination are the threads running across a story taking place at the end of the nineteenth century in which the commitment to what one believes in, the union between different cultures, a constructive exchange between different perspectives and the ensuing collaboration make their way in a world that is definitely not open to change and dialogue.
Steppenwolf – I read this book years ago but I still remember the smoothness of this novel, despite meticulous descriptions of the details that did not slow down the reading but in fact made the book more colorful and palpable. Steppenwolf is about the discomfort of the main character in a changing society with which he does not identify, a time driven by values that don’t belong to him and that seem to have constrained his ideals.
Pasta and tomato sauce – One of the Italian dishes that has always represented the family united around the dinner table, sharing good food and simple things made with extreme love. The smell of the fresh tomato sauce and a cascade of parmesan cheese mean home.
Space Oddity, David Bowie,1969 – The first iconic and poignant masterpiece by the White Duke, influenced by the slow psychedelic footages of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A space Odissey”. Its score has accompanied a special moment of space connection in my life.
Museo del Novecento, Milano – Inaugurated in 2010, it houses the art pieces of the 20th century artists in the heart of the city. I love its great glass panels looking over Duomo square and blend with Lucio Fontana’s visions in a classic-futuristic mix.
Remember me, 2010 – The romance between Tyler, a young rebel marked by his brother’s suicide, and Ally, a young woman whose mother was brutally killed, seems like a trite love story. But the shadow of the Twin Towers terrorist attack in 2001 wipes out all certainties and impresses new directions to everybody’s lives. I adore the ability to create such a shocking finale.
On the road, Jack Kerouac (1951) – The book that revolutionized my lifeview. Written in three weeks on wallpaper to not lose the narrative pace, On the road is the Beat Generation manifesto. Jack Kerouac recounts in one go his adventures across the States with his buddy Neal Cassady and by himself, hitchhiking and travelling in night trains, eating apple pie and ice cream and meditating about life.
